I am often asked if I think Acupuncture can help "this" or help "that." I always answer that I am the optimist. Who am I to predict how one's body is going to respond to this medicine? Every body is different. Pain and conditions of all kinds have a beginning (a birth), a growth, a transformation, a decline, and eventually an end (a death) - and at the end, there is an opportunity for everything to be completely different.
I love that Acupuncture and Chinese Medicine can be a tool that people use to be empowered through the transformation of whatever is showing up in their lives. I love meeting people where they are at, and together, consciously creating change. And I love midwifing people through their experiences and watching the next birth/beginning happen.
I truly believe that our bodies capability to heal far surpasses what we allow ourselves to believe. SpringRoot creates a space for that healing to happen.

"On the recommendation of a friend, I first decided to try acupuncture after being diagnosed with breast cancer in 2014. In thinking back, I am not sure what my expectations were, except that I knew that I had to expand my arsenal beyond my medical treatment plan. I started seeing Rachel [at Community Acupuncture of Woodbury] on a recommendation from a friend and alternative medicine professional before I even had my surgery. Through a grueling year of surgery, chemotherapy and radiation, I used acupuncture therapy to help boost my immune system, boost my immune system, boost my energy, and to reduce my anxiety. Along the way, my frequent headaches and gastrointestinal issues that had plagued me for a lifetime reduced and resolved! Now, a year and a half later, cancer free with new "chemo curls" coming in, I continue to see Rachel for "tune-ups". Without hesitation or reservation, I would recommend and encourage anyone in need of health, healing and strength to try acupuncture under the expert and caring hands of Rachel Beth Dorfman, CMT. L.Ac.[and Community Acupuncture of Woodbury].
